A mixed day, but great play, in Clonshaugh today
Sunday’s DDSL cup final day began for Cabo with our valiant U-11Bs (above)  who gave everything and then more on a slippery pitch and in intermittent foul conditions, given the heavy showers, against a well-match Portmarnock AFC.

Unfortunately, the lads came up against an opposition ‘keeper in tip-top form today, as shot after goal-bound shot was met by the flying brick wall in the opposition’s goal! Ultimately, the lads went down 1-2, but their heads were held high after the game as they knew that they had given their all.

Later, the U-15 Majors (below),  went three up early in the second half, courtesy of an Adam Meegan hat-trick, as the sun really began to shine over Clonshaugh. Mullingar fought back, but Cabo eventually ran out victorious on a 4-1 scoreline.

We expect to have some more news and photos on the games over the next few days.

All an all, four great final performances in sometimes difficult conditions and a range of trophies to bring back to Cabinteely! Well done to all.
