U-15 Friendly: Cabinteely FC 2-2 SuperClubs FC
As you know, on Tuesday evening, our U-15 girls took on our visitors from the USA, SuperClubs, in a friendly challenge match.

Our girls started well on what was a breezy evening and adapted well to the conditions, passing and moving neatly against a well-drilled and patient SuperClubs.

However, the visitors took advantage of an error in Cabo’s midfield which let the SuperClubs’ striker, who, we suspect, would give Usain Bolt a run for his money, in on goal to score.

It stayed at 0-1 until half-time with end to end football throughout.

Cabo restarted with the wind in their sails and broke down the right with a neat pass to new striker Ava to unleash a thunderbolt that the SuperClubs’ ‘keeper couldn’t hold – so 1-1.

With that the game really came alive with both ‘keepers called in to action on numerous occasions, but Cabo took the lead with a first time hit from Molly that gave their ‘keeper no chance to bring the score to 2-1.

The Americans then changed formation and piled on the pressure which the Cabo girls soaked up well until the visitors eventually got their just desserts with another defence-splitting pass and a one-on-one with home ‘keeper Courtney.

The visiting striker kept her cool and slotted home to even the scores.

2-2 was a fair result for both teams and rounded out a great opportunity for our girls. A big thanks to the SuperClubs coaches and team for the game played in a friendly and mannerly way.

Certainly a great way to enjoy a long summer evening.
