All going well so far for the U-17s (fingers crossed!)
You’ll remember that we let you know that our DDSL U-17 Majors were travelling to Finglas for a weekend six-club tournament?

Well, we’ve just heard that the lads are really enjoying themselves so far, in that they’ve won their first two matches, so have made it to tomorrow’s first semi-final.

Their first match this morning was against Marino AFC and proved to be a hard-fought 3-2 win against a good side. The Cabo goals came from Taidgh Hughes, Ciarán Byrne and Andrew Knight.

Next up were hosts McKelvey Celtic FC. Our lads were slow to get into the game but once they got their noses in front they went on to control the game with goals from Andrew Knight (2) and Ciarán Byrne, to finish on a 3-0 scoreline.

The lads’ semi-final, against Verona FC, kicks off at 1.15pm tomorrow and they’re really looking forward to it.

Sounds like an early night for the lads if they’re to do their best tomorrow!
