Want to take part in a fun active event for all the family?
If so, register now for the Core Credit Union dlr Community 5k, taking place on Saturday, October 7, 2017. This event returns for its ninth year in full force with over 1,000 participants walking, jogging or rolling the 5km scenic route around Kilbogget Park.
Taking place during the county’s Festival of Inclusion, this annual 5k event prides itself on being fully-inclusive, suitable for all ages, abilities and fitness levels. With a DJ on hand to add to the electrifying atmosphere, each participant receives an event t-shirt at sign-in and refreshments on crossing the finish line as well as a medal for children.
At just €5.00 for adults and free for children, this event will give everyone the opportunity to get out, have fun and be active.
The Core Credit Union dlr Community 5K is organised by dlr Sports Partnership and a range of local agencies and clubs who are delighted to once again have our local credit union as title sponsor. Funding support is also provided by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and the HSE. The Community Gardaí and Dublin Civil Defence also assist to ensure a safe and fun event.
Shane McArdle, Co-ordinator with dlr Sports Partnership, commented “The Community 5k is an event that we really look forward to every year. It’s a great example of how all ages and abilities can be included in physical activity from the 80-year-old walker to the competitive runner who all cross the finish line as winners.”
Many of the club’s players, family members and friends take part in this great community event and it’s likely that we’ll have some changes to our fixtures schedule for the day, so do keep an eye on here for any such details.
Why not join in the fun and enjoy a different aspect of Kilbogget Park?
