SFAI U-15 Cup: Cabinteely FC U-14 Premier 2-1 Drogheda Boys FC
Saturday saw another meeting of our DDSL U-14 Premier team and a Drogheda Boys FC side that showed huge improvement on the previous meeting in County Louth by frustrating the Cabo lads with some resolute defending and great organisation.

After an even first half, full of cut and thrust, the visitors were finally broken down early in the second half after a wave of Cabo attacks with Euwan Curran heading home from Stephen Ryan’s corner (above).

Drogheda soon hit back from a free kick in the box when a bouncing ball fell to the advancing defender who hit a low shot from close range to make it 1-1, although the Cabo lads had some good one and two touch play around the Drogs’ 18 yard box.

Huge credit to manager Graham and the players of Drogheda who had shown up two weeks ago only for the game to be postponed before kick-off and then came back yesterday to put in an excellent performance.

Our lads will be looking to go all the way when the competition resumes next year. Well done to all.

Now for some tough opponents from around the country!
