National Volunteering Week 2019
This week, June 13-19, marks National Volunteering Week 2019.

The entire week has been dedicated to highlighting volunteering across the island of Ireland and it’s run by the network of Volunteer Centres and Volunteer Ireland. We’re grateful to Claire Carroll, Manager, Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Volunteer Centre for the continued support in relation to volunteering in this area.

On this Volunteering Week, Cabinteely FC would like to thank the many volunteers who contribute enormously to the club on a weekly, monthly, periodic, annual or, for some, on an hourly basis.

The commitment from our volunteers cannot be underestimated or taken for granted. From the Cubs to the First Team, from the Football for All to the Over 35s, from schoolboys/schoolgirls to the junior teams, week in, week out volunteers, male and female, give of their time, energy, experience and expertise for the players of our club.

For major events like the Mini World Cup, for fundraisers such as Cabo2Galway, Ladies’ Lunch, Golf Classic, Strictly Dancing or our Annual Dinner, Cabo volunteers are to the forefront in ensuring that these events are run to the highest standards with maximum return for the participants and the players.

Volunteers have been doing this for Cabinteely FC since the club was formed over 50 years ago and it’s fair to say that the club would not have survived all those years and would not survive currently without the dedicated band of club volunteers – managers, coaches, committee members, event organisers, match day operations, fundraisers, support in all areas – the lifeblood of the club.

On this Volunteering Week 2019 let’s say a BIG THANK YOU to all the volunteers of Cabinteely Football Club.

We’re delighted to announce that at our Annual Dinner in the Royal Marine Hotel on November 23 we’ll be presenting awards for Volunteers of the Year and Service to Cabinteely.

As indicated above we have a dedicated band of volunteers but it is a small band. Don’t leave it all to them.

Do you have an hour to spare on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis? Do you have experience, expertise or skills that you think would be useful to a club like ours? Are you good on committees? Are you good at fundraising? Do you want to gain new experiences? Do you want to see our club grow and prosper?

If the answer is YES to any or all of those questions, we’d love to hear from you. Don’t leave it to our small band of volunteers to make OUR club work for YOU!

Email Pat Costello, Club Secretary and General Manager for more information. You will be warmly received.
